Every time Juda collects one of these glowing polygons, he gets a new ability!
For this update I had a little help from cool people on the internet. The material for the glowing light was created by following two tutorials on youtube: Erode tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QaElxD9dDlI Gradient tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SN9un3Wf5Xo The animation was created in blender. As for the blue spinning particles, these were created in cascade in UE4, by using an orbit module with upward velocity and drag (so it spreads them out vertically). I probably could have used a cylinder location to make this work but I couldn't get it looking how I desired. From there, when Juda hits the material, (on collision begin overlap), I have created a dynamic material instance so the blue particles have downward acceleration (fall down to the ground) and the material erodes. Then, I add another burst particle with cone velocity to make the cool sphere particle effect. For the glowing eyes, that was simply using a material on the eyes that blends between an emissive material and the normal black one. Then I just lerp the blend value between them to change them smoothly! If you are interested in this game's development, we would love to have you follow us on twitter or discord. Thanks for reading!
